Types of waste
Time to clean your body
When it comes to detox it is likely that you are unsure exactly what to do. The list of how to do’s on the internet, Instagram, and Facebook is pretty long. And completely confusing!
Living in today’s modern world also means our body is bombarded with toxins relentlessly, both externally and internally. The more toxic we are, the more weakened our immune system becomes. We all saw the importance of a strong immune system these last two years, right ?
The bottom line is that regular detoxing or as I like to call it “spring cleaning of your body” is essential for optimal health.
So, shall we get straight to the basics first, and then dive right into the nitty gritty of detoxing?
First of all, there are two types of toxins:
Endogenous and exogenous. Just fancy words for internal and external waste.
Endogenous toxins (also called metabolic waste) come from the inside and are produced by the body itself.
This waste is the normal end products of different metabolisms in our body. It is toxic and has to be eliminated, however, the body is perfectly designed to do this (providing we rest well during the night, we drink lots of water, our level of stress is low and our elimination organs are not overloaded already) every night, over and over again.
Exogenous toxins, come from the outside and are found in many of the things we encounter every day. These toxins are in our food, in our water, our beauty products, the air we breathe, the clothes we wear. They make our body work “extra” or “overtime” and are more or less easy to evacuate depending on the quantity and type.
If you have read some of my previous emails, you know how much I love analogies.
You see what I am getting at?
Even Hippocrates has said it more than 2000 years ago.
The level of toxicity in our body is affected not only by our exposure to toxins or how late we go to bed ????, but by how well we eliminate them as they build up in our bodies.
For that, nature has given us five elimination organs or detoxification filters.
But more about this in the next post. So stay tuned.
Until then,
Love and light ✨
